Under this Category, Information about Financial Assistance for House Repair, to Blinds, from Flag day Fund, for Medical Reimbursment, for Two Years to Ex-Servicemen, Education grant to children, as Marriage Grant, out of RMDF Fund for Children Education, for House Repair, for Daughters Marriage, for Medical Treatment, Grant of War Jagir, Scholarship to children of Ex-Servicemen, Transport allowance to War Widows, is provided.

  Following are the services available

Financial Assistance for House Repair
 
Rs.10000 is paid as Financial Assistance for House Repairs, to the Ex-Servicemen, only if he is not getting any Pension or he does not have any other Source of Income/ Livelihood.This Financial Assistance is also provided incase,where the applicant's house has collapsed/got damaged due to Natural Causes.

Stipend to Children of Ex-Servicemen out of Punjab Amalgamated Fund
 
Stipend to Children of Ex-Servicemen out of Punjab Amalgamated Fund at the rates prescribed from time to time is provided. For this stipend, each applicant should be the Ward of Ex-Servicemen/Widow, should have obtained 45% marks, should be studying in a school run by the Govt. aided by the Government and should be below the age of 25 years.

Transport Allowance to War Widows
 
Payment of transport allowance to war widows of 1948,1962,1965,1971,Pawan and Meghdoot operations (ONLY), is provided under this service.These payments are made by Punjab Government.Transport allowance will be paid 150 per month.

Financial Assistance out of RMDF for Children Education
 
Financial Assistance of Rs.100/- per month is provided for three children upto +2 class out of Raksha Mantry Discrelimery Fund (RMDF) for Children Education. Ex-Servicemen/ Widows in Penury can apply for maximum of three children upto +2 Class. Financial Assistance is provided by concerned WO / KSB after all necessary verifications.

Financial Assistance out of RMDF for House Repair
 
Financial Assistance of Rs.10,000/- is provided for House Repairs out of Raksha Mantry Discrelimery Fund (RMDF). Ex-Servicemen/ Widows in Penury can apply for this assistance.Financial Assistance is provided by concerned WO / KSB after all necessary verifications.

Financial Assistance out of RMDF for Daughters' Marriage
 
Financial Assistance of Rs.8,000/- to needy Ex-Servicemen / their dependents, out of Raksha Mantry Discrelimery Fund (RMDF) is provided for daughters marriage of Ex-servicemen / Widows in penury.

Financial Assistance out of RMDF for Medical Treatment
 
Financial Assistance for Medical Treatment of Rs.15000/- (maximum) is provided, which depend on the nature and gratuity of ailment. Financial Assistance is provided by concerned KSB after all necessary verifications.

Financial Assistance to Blinds
 
Financial Assistance to Blinds Rs.300 per month to Totally Blind/Ex-Servicemen/Widows is provided, by Director Sainik Welfare Punjab,Chandigarh. Beneficiary ,who is totally blind will apply to concerned District Sainik Welfare Officer with the Certificate of Blindness (100%) from the concerned District Civil Surgeon.DSWO will forward the complete case to DSW Punjab for according sanction.

Financial Assistance from Flag Day Fund
 
Financial Assistance out of Flag Day Fund is provided to the Ex-Servicemen and their widows from Rs.500 to Rs.10000, who are in penury. Up to Rs.500 are provided by concerned District Sainik Welfare Officer.Up to Rs.5000 by DC and President Zila Sainik Board and Up to Rs.10,000 by Director Sainik Welfare,Punjab.

Financial Assistance for Medical Re-imbursements
 
Under this service, Ex-servicemen can claim Medical Re-imbursements up to Rs.15000. For this Re-imbursement ,applicant has to submit original medical bills towards expenditure on treatment taken in Civil or Government Hospital.

Financial Assistance for Two Years
 
Under this Service,Financial Assistance for two years to Ex-servicemen of worth Rs.500 is given. This financial assistance will be provided to the applicant, who is not being provided financial assistance from the State Governement, who is old, destitute and resource-less, although has adult sons, yet are not supporting him and not drawing any kind of pension and has no income from property or any other source.

Education Grant to Children
 
Under this service financial assistance as Education Grant, of Rs.100 p.m., till Std. XII, up to three children, is provided.

Financial Assistance as Marriage Grant
 
Financial Assistance of Rs. 8000 is provided as Marriage Grant to Ex-service men. This grant is provided only where the applicant (only JCOs/ ORs and their equivalents) has not been provided any assistance by State Govt. for the purpose.

Grant of War Jagir
 
The War Jagir will be paid by the Director of Sainik Welfare, Punjab with effect from kharif 1992 ( April 1992) at the following rates: 1.1 One to three Children only Rs. 500 p.a. 1.2 Beyond 3 in case of additional Rs. 100 per Child p.a. The arrears if any of Jagir holders will be paid on revision of Sandas already held by then after getting the details of their dues from the District Sainik Welfare Officer concerned.
